Large-area concrete grinding & surface preparation

Diamond grinding that flattens worn industrial slabs, opens the concrete and creates a consistent, predictable profile across the entire floor area.

When you need it

Signs this is your scope

  • High and low spots that slow pallet jacks and AGVs
  • Dusting, soft or laitance-covered slab surfaces
  • Old coating residue and adhesive left after removal
  • Surfaces that need a defined profile before a new finish
  • Rough slabs that are difficult to clean

What we actually do

Concrete Grinding — execution

01

Progressive diamond tooling

Metal-bond diamonds cut the surface flat, then progressively finer tooling refines it toward the target finish.

02

HEPA dust extraction

Extraction is connected at the tool and the zone is contained, which is what allows grinding next to running operations.

03

Consistent surface profile

The whole area is brought to one profile so the finish behaves the same everywhere, not just in the patch that was ground.

04

Edge and corner work

Hand grinders and edge tooling reach walls, columns, dock areas and equipment bases the big machines cannot.

Where it sits in the process

The full restoration sequence

Every JK project runs the same eight steps. This service is one part of it — and we will tell you which of the other steps your floor also needs.

STEP 01 / 08

Slab assessment and documentation

We walk the floor with the facility team, record slab condition, joint damage, coating type and moisture indicators, then map the area into workable zones.

  • Existing coating identification
  • Joint and crack mapping
  • Slab hardness and profile check
  • Zone and access plan

FAQ

Questions we get on this scope

Is grinding the same as polishing?

No. Grinding is the preparation and flattening stage. Polishing is a finish achieved by continuing through progressively finer diamond steps with densifier. Many industrial floors only need grinding plus a seal.

Will grinding remove my old coating?

Grinding can remove residue, but a fully bonded or thick coating is handled as a dedicated coating removal scope first so the tooling is not wasted.

How flat can the floor get?

Grinding improves surface flatness within the limits of the existing slab. Deep deviations or structural settlement are a resurfacing or repair conversation, and we will say so during the assessment.
